Public bug reported: Current amd64/desktop (20060928.2, beta candidate): gfxboot works, then I get a black screen with a single kernel warning (which is normal), and then nothing happens any more for ten minutes (I gave up afterwards, normally the live CD boots in 3 minutes to the desktop for me).
uplash does not work due to #56587 and upstart does not show any boot messages (if upstart starts at all). Booting in safe graphics mode does not help either. Switching VTs etc. only yields the usplash illegal instruction, but I do not get any shell. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: High Status: Unconfirmed ** Changed in: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided => High -- amd64 desktop does not start https://launchpad.net/bugs/62738 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
