This is intentional - the idea is to sort numbered files eg mp3 files in the expected order:
1. Foo 2. Bar ... 10. Baz ... This means that 2 (or 02) has to come after 1 (or 01) but before 10 - when any are followed by a non-digit. This is known as "natural" sorting - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_sort_order I agree it can seem a bit weird when applied to files that aren't numbered but instead are a string of eg hex digits like hashes. I've been confused by it before... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2106242 Title: Sort order in Thunar not the same as several other programs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thunar/+bug/2106242/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
