Public bug reported:
**Description:**
When using the GNOME Settings interface to connect to a VPN configured
with *network-manager-fortisslvpn-gnome*, the GUI incorrectly shows a
successful connection. However, no actual connection is established, and
after a short period, it automatically disconnects. This issue does
**not** occur when using the terminal-based `openfortivpn` client.
**Steps to Reproduce:**
1. Run: `sudo apt install network-manager-fortisslvpn-gnome`
2. Open **Settings** → **Network**
3. In the VPN section, press **"+"** to add a new VPN
4. Choose **Fortinet SSLVPN**
5. Fill in all required information and save the VPN connection
6. Attempt to connect by clicking the **Connect** button in the VPN list
**Expected Result:**
The VPN connects successfully and routes traffic through the secure
tunnel.
**Actual Result:**
- GUI shows "Connected" state
- No network traffic is routed through the VPN
- After a short time, the GUI automatically shows "Disconnected"
**Workaround:**
Connecting via terminal using `openfortivpn` works as expected:
sudo openfortivpn vpn.myserver.br:443 --no-dns -u <my_user>
**System Information:**
- OS: Ubuntu 25.04
- Package: `network-manager-fortisslvpn-gnome`
- VPN server: Fortinet SSLVPN
**Additional Notes:**
- This problem does not occur with old Ubuntu (24.04).
