Public bug reported:

There appears to be no way to see a folder's size; that is, the total
size of all files and folders it contains. This is an extremely useful
and basic feature of a file manager; both Windows and macOS provide it
by default.

For large folders it could take some time to measure its size, but this
is not a big deal; it can be cached periodically, or just take a few
seconds to display after the user views the folder. (The latter is how
macOS handles it, and if even Apple with their very "polish-focused"
approach to design considers this an acceptable hit to UX given the
importance of the feature, I don't see any reason why Linux should avoid
it.)
