I came up with a workaround: use the Debian binary instead:

wget
http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/main/a/aardvark-dns/aardvark-dns_1.14.0-3_riscv64.deb
mkdir t
cd t
dpkg -x ../aardvark-dns_1.14.0-3_riscv64.deb .
mv /usr/lib/podman/aardvark-dns /usr/lib/podman/aardvark-dns.ubuntu
mv usr/lib/podman/aardvark-dns /usr/lib/podman/aardvark-dns.debian

So I suspect the problem have been resolved in a newer version than
what's in Ubuntu 24.04.
