Public bug reported:

While building the April 2025 OpenJDK security updates, various JTREG
(regression) tests that use zlib have failed. The failures are
consistent and most probably related to hardware-accelerated compression
using zEDC on s390x.

The following failures have been observed with openjdk-* packages:

FAILED: java/util/zip/ZipFile/CopyJar.java
FAILED: java/util/zip/CloseInflaterDeflaterTest.java
FAILED: tools/pack200/PackTestZip64.java
FAILED: tools/jmod/hashes/HashesTest.java
FAILED: sun/security/tools/jarsigner/PreserveRawManifestEntryAndDigest.java
FAILED: java/util/zip/DeInflate.java
FAILED: java/util/zip/CloseInflaterDeflaterTest.java
FAILED: tools/jlink/JLinkReproducibleTest.java
FAILED: java/util/zip/CloseInflaterDeflaterTest.java
FAILED: tools/jlink/JLinkReproducibleTest.java
FAILED: tools/jar/modularJar/JarToolModuleDescriptorReproducibilityTest.java

I confirm that all of these tests pass with environment variable
DFLTCC=0, which disables hardware-accelerated compression. This in turn
points to an issue with hardware-acceleration on s390x.

Last month, I noted a similar failure in the Java's TCK test-suite [1].
