Ubuntu 14.04 (trusty) reached end-of-standard-support on April 25, 2019.
'My guess is them idiots at Synaptic or whoever haven't updated the
software center or the packages' is not the sort of language that we
want to see in bug reports. Please be more constructive.
Bug reports raised against the Ubuntu project and without an assigned
package will seldom attract the attention of those that can help or fix
issues. Bug reports relaying to 'steam' should be reported against the
steam package and not against the Ubuntnu project.
After over nine years of inactivity, I'm closing this as being
'Invalid'.
