Hi Andre, changing to /dev/disk/by-path/... is a significant change, which is 
not planned.
For now the only way I think is to ensure that the disk devices are created in 
the right order, ensuring that they spawn the correct DASD devices.
Would it be possible to introduce a check, whether a DASD was created like you 
expect or not, and react on that accordingly?
(IF the devices are enabled always in the same order, and always with a single 
chzdev cmd, they should create reproducible results.)
