Hello! I upgraded to Hardy, and at least got no error message anymore when testing the MIC at System > Preferences > Sound. But I still have no sound. I installed the following packages:
alsa-base-1.0.15-4ubuntu1 alsa-utils-1.0.15-2ubuntu1 linux-backports-modules-2.6.24-3.2-generic linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-3-generic-2.6.24-3.6 But all that I can hear from any record I do is that damn loud noise! I played a lot with the volume control, and got no success yet. Anyone can help me?
