> As mentioned it does not work without plymouth.use-simpledrm either. OK. If the only known working framebuffer device is virtio and that's loading after SimpleDRM then one possible workaround is to disable SimpleDRM: plymouth.use-simpledrm=0
But ideally we want our platforms to have a sysfb device that SimpleDRM can use because it sounds like that's what is missing. Maybe some real RISC-V boards do have that and this bug is specific to VMs, in which case we wouldn't want to fix it just for VMs and risk removing a working splash from the real hardware. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2120246 Title: No plymouth graphic shown on riscv64 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2120246/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
