The statement about amarok not being designed to work with mysql isn't
quite true. I have been using it with mysql for years. Amarok has two
backends. One is built against mariadb embedded (since mysql embedded
was removed). The other can connect to an external SQL server and works
with mariadb or mysql. Ideally, the amarok embedded plugin would be
separated out so amarok can still be installed with mysql-server.
