Running the Software Centre (plasma-discover) after a "successful" run of plasma-discover-update shows three updates, but attempting to update these results in the same errors as the above. Then plasma-discover itself hangs and has to be killed.
The updates shown in plasma-discover are theme and icon set updates that are no showing when plasma-discover-update is run from the command line. When plasma-discover is run it initially shows no updates, as would be expected as plasma-discover-update has just been run from the command line. Then a couple of seconds later the update count rises and these updates are shown. Why doesn't plasma-discover-update update all the packages that the GUI Software Centre seems to be able to find?
