Hi Ben, thanks for dropping by. At least on my Mac, the bug occurs both with and without PREEMPT, and with at least two different HZ settings. Also happens with every (post-2.6.20) distro I've tried, as well as the default pmac vanilla kernel, so it's not looking too config-specific. Sometimes it can take up to a couple of minutes for the sound to hang--maybe Paul didn't give it enough time?
Anyhow I've attached my current kernel config so Paul can try it just to make sure.
