Hi, thanks for opening a bug report! Are you able to provide debug info from the machine after the issue occurs, so we can capture kernel logs? The easiest way to do so would be to run `apport-collect 2137213` to automatically upload info to this bug. These would be most useful if you can get the failure to happen first, but in the case of the screen staying black after boot, you could also try to gather logs from the previous boot (after switching kernels or enabling nomodeset) by running `journalctl -b -1` or checking /var/log/syslog.
Additionally, you may want to try a mainline kernel build to determine if this is an upstream issue. We have a build of 5.15.197 available at https://kernel.ubuntu.com/mainline/v5.15.197/ and instructions to install mainline builds at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds If the issue goes away with the mainline kernel, we'll need to start narrowing down what patch needs to be backported or what Ubuntu patch caused a regression. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Ian Whitfield (ijwhitfield) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2137213 Title: Ryzen 5 5600U graphics driver broken in kernel 5.15.0-164 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2137213/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
