Good news. As of the last two days (Jan31/Feb1), the bug is not
occurring anymore with the current packages. kwin_wayland is no longer
taking over the cpu, and plasma loads just fine with the nouveau driver
stack. I will keep testing, but I would feel comfortable if this was
marked as "fixed released", even if it not clear what exactly fixed the
issue.
