Public bug reported:
Problem Description:
After the official update to Mesa 25.2.8 in Ubuntu 24.04.3, hardware
acceleration is lost on the Intel Arc A310 (DG2). The system fails to
initialize the hardware driver and falls back to software rendering (llvmpipe).
Steps to Reproduce:
Use an Intel Arc A310 on a motherboard without Resizable BAR support (Small
BAR/256MB aperture).
Install/Update to Mesa 25.2.8-0ubuntu0.24.04.1.
Check acceleration status via glxinfo -B.
Expected Result:
The system should utilize the 'iris' or 'xe' driver for hardware acceleration,
as it did in previous versions.
Actual Result:
Device is reported as "llvmpipe" and Accelerated is "no".
Regression Confirmation:
Mesa 24.0.5: Accelerated: YES (Hardware works correctly even without ReBAR).
Mesa 25.2.8: Accelerated: NO (Reverts to software rendering).
Additional Info:
I have verified that the hardware is still functional by pinning my system to
Mesa 24.0.5, which restores full hardware acceleration. The newer Mesa 25.x
stack appears to have removed or broken the "Small BAR" fallback path for DG2
hardware on older PCIe platforms.
