The driver verifies that major, minor, and hotfix version numbers are
identical, but allows the 4th version number, which is the build
version, to be greater.
I think the bug is in the firmware file, so I will change the bug report
package to linux-firmware.
I have not tried blacklisting snd-soc-avs yet. I rebooted with the
previously most recent kernel for Ubuntu 24.04, which is 6.14. That
kernel uses snd_hda_intel for sound on my laptop. So it's possible that
snd-soc-avs may not work even when driver version number checking
passes.
