Hi Chris, That's the thing. I didn't do any terminal stuff. Just the usual "update" ui that shows up and trucking along. I locked my pc to hop on my couch to remote in and boom! No gnome-remote-destkop :/
It was easy to install back and it picked up the settings that were already there but I was just curious why it disappeared all of sudden. As a non-technical person would easily not figure out how to bring it back since its there in the settings by default in a vanilla install Best On Tue, Feb 10, 2026 at 5:20 AM Chris Guiver <[email protected]> wrote: > Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make > Ubuntu better. > > The ubuntu-release-upgrader package is used to upgrade one release to > another; your install media was 25.10, and I see no attempt to release- > upgrade your system to resolute/26.04; was that attempted? as your > description doesn't mention it.
