Also, just to attempt to validate things. I did the following:
* remove linux-firmware package
* move /lib/firmware to /lib/firmware.old
* reinstall linux-firmware package
* remove all 6.17 packages
* reboot
* validate 6.14 works
* reinstall 6.17 packages
* reboot

Same error as before like in
