Debian changelog: <https://tracker.debian.org/media/packages/b/backintime/changelog-1.6.1-1> Upstream changelog: <https://sources.debian.org/src/backintime/1.6.1-1/CHANGES> Summary: The 1.6 introduces several deprecations and feature migrations which will result in breaking changes in upcoming releases. Users need to be informed about these changes early. Version 1.6 provides appropriate deprecation notices and migration guidance. Notable changes include: - EncFS is deprecated and will be removed in a future release; gocryptfs is introduced as a replacement. - Several CLI commands are deprecated and most of them replaced by alternatives. - Use of SSH ciphers is deprecated without replacement. In addition, this release contains numerous bug fixes, code quality improvements, and translation updates. The 1.6 series was explicitly planned with Ubuntu 26.04 LTS in mind. Please consider syncing at your convenience.
