Public bug reported:
Hi,
/etc/rsyslog.d/50-default.conf
/usr/share/rsyslog/50-default.conf
contains
#
# Logging for the mail system. Split it up so that
# it is easy to write scripts to parse these files.
#
#mail.info -/var/log/mail.info
#mail.warn -/var/log/mail.warn
mail.err /var/log/mail.err
and thus it creates /var/log/mail.err , and, if admin uncomments as proposed,
mail.info and mail.warn, but
/etc/logrotate.d/rsyslog
rotates only /var/log/mail.log
and thus keeps mail.err (and, if uncommented, mail.info and mail.warn)
forever, it never gets rotated.
