Public bug reported: This is a package removal request.
See https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1129537. streamtuner2 has not received any upstream code work since 2022, and has several issues that block it in Debian Testing, including: - python incompatibilities (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1120496) - No removals of pygtkcompat despite pygobject removing it (RC level issue - https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1094922) - Invalid inbuilt URLs (https://askubuntu.com/questions/1564504/alternative-or-fix-for-streamtuner2) Most important, the software is orphaned upstream. There are dozens of browser-based solutions that work as an alternative even if they arent dedicated programs. However, given the severity of the issues with this, regardless of what Debian does, I feel this should be removed from Ubuntu (and no longer synced). Especially with 26.04 upcoming, this is a good time to remove bad/broken software. ** Affects: streamtuner2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2143155 Title: Remove streamtuner2 from the repositories (26.04+) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/streamtuner2/+bug/2143155/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
