- Do you know why Debian has kept this in experimental for almost a year instead of uploading to unstable already? Are there any discussions about this or potential worries brought up?
I do not know and I haven't found Debian bug reports about that. - How come you are cherry-picking fixes from upstream that are not included in the Debian uploads? Are the fixes Ubuntu-specific, or are you including them ahead of Debian? I cherry-picked 3 commits from upstream that were made after 1.14: one is needed to drop our patch and two that were obvious fixes that makes sense to include. - Can you run the autopkgtests for at least gzip itself? Yes, triggered the tests. - It would also be nice to identify some packages which use gzip (this is easier said than done) and run their autopkgtests also. Since this package is essential, many packages will use it without declaring an explicit dependency, which is unfortunate for proposed-migration purposes. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2142871 Title: [FFe] Update gzip to 1.14 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gzip/+bug/2142871/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
