Thanks Daniel for following up on this issue. I have attached screenshots of another effect I have noticed - text sometimes goes missing or is distorted.
I believe this issue is related to bug 2077260, although I have already applied the workaround from that bug report (intel_iommu=igfx_off, I am the original reporter of the kernel bugzilla report mentioned in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux- hwe-6.8/+bug/2077260/comments/35) before upgrading to questing and I continue to experience the graphical problems described in this issue. Also I was wrong about the system freezes/crashes in my original report. I continue to experience freezes/crashes regularly and they seem to occur right after starting a graphically intensive task.
