Public bug reported:
OS: Kubuntu 26.04 development release
Steps to reproduce:
1. Boot the ISO and continue to the installer prompt screen.
2. Click "Try Kubuntu".
3. Open the Start Menu and attempt to launch KHelpCenter.
Expected result: KHelpCenter opens.
Actual result: KHelpCenter immediately crashes.
Additional info: If I open Konsole and run 'khelpcenter', it crashes
with the message "Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped)". If I then run
"sudo dmesg", I see indications that KHelpCenter is not able to create
an unprivileged user namespace, i.e.:
audit: type=1400 audit(...): apparmor="DENIED"
operation="userns_create" class="namespace" info="Userns create
restricted - failed to find unprivileged_userns profile" error=-13
profile="unconfined" pid=... comm="khelpcenter"
requested="userns_create" denied="userns_create"
target="unprivileged_userns" execpath="/usr/bin/khelpcenter"
Adding a new AppArmor profile copied from the existing signal-desktop
profile, then restarting apparmor.service, seems to fix the issue
(though I do have to modify the apparmor.service file to allow me to
restart it on the live ISO).
** Affects: khelpcenter (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
