Public bug reported:

*Release*: 24.04 LTS
*Package ver.*: 1.2.2+dfsg1-4build2

according to the manpage ntpdig(1)
>The default is to write the estimated correct local date and time (i.e. not
>UTC) to the standard >output in a format like:
>
> 2015-10-14 13:46:04.534916 (+0500) -0.000007 +/- 0.084075 localhost

> where the (+0500) means that to get to UTC from the reported local time
> one must add 5 hours and 0 minutes, the -0.000007 indicates the local clock
> is 0.000007 seconds ahead of
> correct time (so 0.000007 seconds must be subtracted from the local

but running ntpdig in my timezone against ntp.ubuntu.com returns:
  2026-03-30 08:23:56.571192 (-0500) +1.378564 +/- 0.051968 ntp.ubuntu.com
185.125.190.58 s2 no-leap
I am in UTC-5, so I would need to add five hours to get UTC, not subtract.

I would expect either the documentation to be in error, or the sign on
the offset to be misplaced.
