Public bug reported:
Hardware: Dell Pro 14 Plus PB14250
BIOS: 2.11.1
Kernel: 6.17.0-1012-oem
IPU6 PCI ID: 8086:7d19
Sensor: OVTI05C1 (OmniVision OV05C1 5MP) connected via USBIO bridge (USB 3-4)
Packages:
- linux-modules-ipu6-oem-24.04b 6.17.0-1012.12
- libcamhal-ipu6epmtl 0~git202506270118.c933525~ubuntu24.04.5
- gstreamer1.0-icamera 0~git202509260937.4fb31db~ubuntu24.04.5
- libcamhal0 0~git202506270118.c933525~ubuntu24.04.5
Problem:
The camera works exactly once after a fresh boot using:
gst-launch-1.0 icamerasrc ! videoconvert ! autovideosink
After stopping the pipeline (Ctrl+C), all subsequent attempts fail with
continuous "CamHAL[ERR] Poll: Device node fd XX poll timeout" errors.
The camera LED stays on and cannot be turned off without a reboot.
Module unload/reload and USB deauthorize/reauthorize do not restore
functionality.
The v4l2-relayd service also fails with the same poll timeouts when it
attempts to access the camera (even on a fresh boot with no prior manual
access).
dmesg shows successful initialization:
