Okay, I was able to try testing today. I did the following: 1.) Moved the four cs35l56-b0-dsp1-misc-17aa3832-spkid(0|1)-amp(l|r).bin files I had downloaded (described above) manually (which enabled speakers & headphones to work) out of /lib/firmware/cirrus to my home directory.
2.) Enabled -proposed and installed 20240318.git3b128b60-0ubuntu2.26 3.) I attempted to install the latest HWE kernel from -proposed, but was getting broken packages (specifically "linux-generic-hwe-24.04"). I did testing on what I had installed, which was 6.17.0-20.20~20.04.1 (for -generic) and 6.17.0-1017-oem. 4.) Testing was just playing a song in Rhythmbox. Results: 6.17.0-20.20~20.04.1 - Speakers worked, but headphones did not. 6.17.0-1017-oem - Speakers worked, headphones worked. Odd note: When rebooting from -oem to -generic, the headphones actually worked. Rebooting *again* to -generic caused the headphones to not work. Please let me know if there's anything else to check. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2137115 Title: [Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 14ILL10, 17aa:3838] Missing Cirrus Amp Firmware in Ubuntu 24.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware/+bug/2137115/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
