This happened on all the old Alternate-Install CD's. If I remember
correctly it has something to do with setting a static IP address. I did
once have a workaround (by dropping to a 2nd tty and doing something)
but for the life of me I can't remember what it was.

This bug was present in Breezy and I am shocked to see that it still
exists in Gutsy.... not cool.
