Binary package hint: hal
After a clean cd install of Hardy Alpha 3 on a Dell Inspiron 1501, I
updated using System Update on the 19/01. Since then, whenever I boot up
a message appears after I log into a gnome session that HAL has failed
to load. Ethernet connection, power management etc are all non-
functional (have to do a hard shutdown).
On the good side, the screen brightness buttons on my Dell 1501 work for
the first time since Feisty...
