Public bug reported:

HDMI audio stopped working after upgrading from Ubuntu 24.04 to 26.04.
The issue is in the WirePlumber/PipeWire layer — ALSA and the AMD HDMI
driver work correctly (speaker-test directly to ALSA produces sound),
but PipeWire fails to route audio through the HDMI sink.

Hardware: Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 15ABR8, AMD Ryzen 7 7730U, AMD Renoir
HDMI/DP Audio Controller
Kernel: 7.0.0-10-generic
PipeWire: 1.6.2 + WirePlumber

Symptoms:
- HDMI sink is created and shows as RUNNING in pactl
- Default sink set to HDMI correctly
- speaker-test -D plughw:0,7 produces sound (ALSA layer works)
- paplay via PipeWire produces no sound
- Worked correctly on Ubuntu 24.04 with the same hardware

The sink transitions to RUNNING state but audio never reaches the
physical HDMI output. This points to a WirePlumber policy regression
in activating the HDMI audio route.

pactl list sinks short output:
57 alsa_output.pci-0000_04_00.6.analog-stereo PipeWire s32le 2ch
48000Hz RUNNING
174 alsa_output.pci-0000_04_00.1.hdmi-stereo-extra1 PipeWire s32le 2ch
48000Hz RUNNING

wpctl status shows HDMI sink correctly detected as ID 55.
Default sink confirmed via pactl info as HDMI sink.
Volume at 100%, not muted.
