Hello, I would like to follow up on this bug report and ask whether enabling CONFIG_IRQ_TIME_ACCOUNTING still makes sense for newer kernels (e.g., 6.8+).
From what I understand, this option enables more accurate IRQ time tracking, which can be useful for performance profiling and analysis tools (e.g., perf, top, /proc/stat IRQ time reporting). Has there been any upstream decision regarding this option in recent kernels? Is it still relevant, or has it been superseded/replaced by another mechanism? Would it be worth enabling it by default in the Ubuntu kernel configuration? Thank you for your time and consideration. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2058710 Title: CONFIG_IRQ_TIME_ACCOUNTING option is not enabled in kernel-generic - 6.8 kernel - ubuntu noble version To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2058710/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
