I should add that for the changes from the deleted interdiffs for gtk2- and kde-, I've generated debdiffs to the Debian version (that is, between -1 and -0ubuntu1) and emailed them to the Debian maintainer with the request to merge at least some of them. The reason I'm requesting a sync and not a merge is because those changes are mostly of the "eye- candy" variety and don't affect buildability of the packages or the end result.
