Public bug reported: I am on Kubuntu 26.04, and there is no Qt Design Studio in the repositories. I need to use this software, and I would be happy if it were stably integrated into Ubuntu by 26.10. A customer insists that I use Qt Design Studio and that the code I write produce no warnings. When I opened an project saved using Qt Design Studio in Qt Creator, there were 10+ warnings and it could not run. Please add the Qt Design Studio project so that I can work on these projects.
I initially tried `flatpak install flathub io.qt.qtdesignstudio`. It lacked HiDPI, and it crashed after locking and unlocking my screen. Now I am using the version from their Online installer. I'm launching it from `~/Qt/Tools/QtDesignStudio/bin/qtdesignstudio`, and it works so far. The installer asked me to accept the GPL3 and LPGL licenses, which should be permissible for Ubuntu. According to https://forum.qt.io/topic/138385/how-to-compile-qt- designer-studio , Qt Design Studio is a modification of Qt Creator to add some plugins. The Qt Quick Designer plugin is deprecated in Qt Creator, so I need Qt Design Studio to have a working plugin version. https://wiki.qt.io/QtDesignStudio#Building_and_contributing says that Qt Design Studio lives in the same repository as Qt Creator. That means I should be compileable from there but I don't know exactly how to or why it's not in package `qtcreator=18.0.2-1build1`. This RFP should eventually go to https://salsa.debian.org/qt-kde-team/ , but I'm not familiar with Debian yet. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: kubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: kubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2154147 Title: Request for package: qtdesignstudio To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/2154147/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
