Public bug reported:

This is likely a continued problem from a previous failed update, where
my system tried to update and ended up failing because i am on a dual
boot system and it does not like switching between drives when it goes
to update. I temporarily fixed it using claude, where we basically just
reinstalled all of the nvidia code by hand. while the previous version
of ubuntu works, this one does not.
