I believe the error pop-up is now fixed in the `desktop-security- center`, and when the snapd 2.76 release is cut the error message will be a bit more clear.
I've a screenshot of the attached the existing message. When snapd 2.76 is cut (so it's used instead of e.g. 2.75.2+ubuntu24.04), it will have the new error message: "cannot enable prompting feature: no interfaces requests handler services are installed, consider installing the 'prompting-client' snap" ** Attachment added: "Screenshot from 2026-05-27 15-26-15.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/+bug/2144624/+attachment/5973933/+files/Screenshot%20from%202026-05-27%2015-26-15.png ** Changed in: snapd (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Oliver Calder (ocalder) ** Changed in: snapd (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Released ** Package changed: snapd (Ubuntu) => snapd ** Also affects: desktop-security-center Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: desktop-security-center Status: New => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2144624 Title: desktop-security-center fails silently when prompting-client not installed: snapd error required to address To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/desktop-security-center/+bug/2144624/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
