Hi Janis,
Thank you for reporting this issue and for including the journalctl
output. From the logs, the system appears to enter suspend successfully
(PM: suspend entry (s2idle)), but then resumes again almost immediately
— within about 8 seconds.
Before this can be investigated further, please update to the latest
available kernel for Ubuntu 24.04 and retest. You are currently running
6.17.0-22-generic, while newer kernel updates (up to 6.17.0-29) are
already available for Noble, including several suspend/resume related
fixes.
Please run:
sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade
Then reboot and confirm the new kernel version with:
uname -r
After rebooting, please test suspend again by either closing the lid or
running:
systemctl suspend
If the problem is resolved, that is great. If it still occurs on the
latest kernel, please reply with:
The kernel version you are now running (uname -r output)
The output of: cat /sys/power/mem_sleep
The output of: journalctl -b -1 | grep -E "PM: (suspend|resume)"
The previous-boot journal (-b -1) is especially useful because it
preserves the suspend/resume sequence from the failed attempt.
Thanks.
