Additional diagnostic information: The issue is reproducible on a fully updated Ubuntu 26.04 (Resolute) installation.
Installed package versions: * xdg-terminal-exec: 0.14.0-1 * nautilus: 1:50.0-0ubuntu2 * gnome-terminal: 3.58.0-1ubuntu1 * ptyxis: 50.1-1ubuntu2 Observed behavior: * Nautilus "Open in Terminal" does nothing. * `xdg-terminal-exec --print-id` returns: `No valid terminal entry was found` * `gnome-terminal` launches normally. * `ptyxis` launches normally. * `gtk-launch org.gnome.Terminal` launches normally. Desktop files exist: * `/usr/share/applications/org.gnome.Terminal.desktop` * `/usr/share/applications/org.gnome.Ptyxis.desktop` Debug output from `XTE_DEBUG=1` shows that xdg-terminal-exec matches both terminal desktop entry IDs: * `org.gnome.Terminal.desktop` * `org.gnome.Ptyxis.desktop` Despite this, `xdg-terminal-exec` ultimately reports: `No valid terminal entry was found` and Nautilus "Open in Terminal" remains non-functional. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2155091 Title: xdg-terminal-exec cannot detect GNOME Terminal or Ptyxis, causing Nautilus "Open in Terminal" to fail To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xdg-terminal-exec/+bug/2155091/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
