Public bug reported:
[Impact]
The red dot that indicates that an application is open is shown too
high, well over the icon, when the default settings are used. This
results in the dot being sometimes not visible (for example, with
Firefox).
Any other settings for the open indicator (like dashes, squares...) show
them right under the icon, thus guaranteeing that it is visible in all
cases.
[Test plan]
- Open the `Extensions` application (installed with `gnome-shell-
extension-prefs` package)
- Ensure that the `ubuntu-dock` extension is enabled, and not any `dash-
to-dock` extension from the gnome shell extensions page.
- Go to the `ubuntu-dock` settings and choose the "Appearance" tab
- In the "Customize windows counter indicators" choose `Default`
- Open any application from the dock and check the position of the red
dot
With the buggy code, the dot will be shown well over the icon. With the
fixed code, the dot should be placed under the icon, without any
overlap.
[Where problems could occur]
If there is a problem with the code added to the patch, the worst thing
that could happen is that the red dot in the Default mode will be shown
too low or too high again.
