Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager-core

I'm running Ubuntu server 6.10 (i386).
I'm trying to upgrade to the latest version so I began with

  sudo do-release-upgrade

I piped the output to tee do-release-upgrade.log so I'll attach that to
this report.

The upgrade started and seemed to be progressing well until it stop
after a minute or so with

A fatal error occured
Please report this as a bug and include the files
/var/log/dist-upgrade/main.log and /var/log/dist-upgrade/apt.log in your
report. The upgrade aborts now.
Your original sources.list was saved in /etc/apt/sources.list.distUpgrade.
