I will also TRY to file with ASUS. Unclear - to me - if this is a driver or
kernel problem.
On U26.04 LTS With this Chipset depending on GRUB settings the laptop
either "semi-freezes"or fails to detect external monitor. During the
"semi-freeze" touchpad and onscreen clock are frozen. KB appears frozen
except for volume & backlight keys.
Attached syslog contains two reboots
1. with the freeze, external monitor live. GRUB without nomodeset
2. without freeze, external monitor dead. GRUB with nomodeset
Same behaviour with live disk boot without/with safe graphics
P.S.
Since U26 gave me such trouble I installed U24, so unfortunately Apport data
collection makes no sense.
