Public bug reported:
I am using an HP Elite x2 1012 G2 running Ubuntu 26.04 LTS with kernel
7.0.0-22-generic.
The device has front and rear cameras that work correctly under Windows,
but under Ubuntu no camera is available to applications.
The kernel appears to detect the camera hardware:
Intel IPU3 CIO2 detected
IPU3 firmware loads successfully
Camera sensors are detected
/dev/video* nodes are created
However, libcamera reports no available cameras:
$ cam -l
Available cameras:
(no cameras listed)
Relevant kernel messages:

this model

System information:
Model: HP Elite x2 1012 G2
BIOS: P87 Ver. 01.51
Ubuntu: 26.04 LTS
Kernel: 7.0.0-22-generic
Secure Boot: Disabled
libcamera: 0.7.0
Additional observations:
media-ctl shows IPU3 and sensor entities.
The OV5670 sensor is present, but the media graph does not appear to
form a complete working camera pipeline.
cam -l and qcam do not detect any usable cameras.
Cameras function normally under Windows on the same hardware.
This looks related to missing board data or incomplete support in the
INT3472/TPS68470 driver path for HP Elite x2 1012 G2, preventing libcamera from
registering usable cameras.
Please let me know if additional logs or debugging information are
needed.
