I'm encountering the same issue as Dan G on 7.0.0-22 with kernel panics
after some green/purple noise on the screen. I did not have the same
trouble during package updates though. I have also reverted back to
kernel 6.17.0-35 and the system has been stable.
I also noticed two other details that may be relevant:
1. For me, the green/purple corruption and the kernel panic were always
preceded by moving windows around on the desktop. Using Super+{LEFT/RIGHT} to
tile on half the screen which is a normal part of my workflow. I experienced 3
kernel panics and they were at different intervals of time since the machine
booted and different usage patterns, except that all 3 occurred immediately
after tiling a window to one half the screen. They did not occur after the
first time I tried to tile a window, but on a subsequent tiling request.
2. Tiling Firefox to one half the screen did not work on Resolute with kernel
7.0.0-22. It worked fine prior to the upgrade from Questing (25.10). Other
windows were tiling normally on Resolute, but Firefox would jump back to the
middle of the screen where it started each time I tried to tile it with
Super+{LEFT/RIGHT}. However, after switching back to kernel 6.17.0-35, Firefox
is again tiling normally. Nothing else was changed on the system other than the
kernel version and this seems to have fixed the tiling problem in Firefox.
I don't know if these two observations are actually related to the
kernel panic, but they are at least correlated.
