Public bug reported:
When there is only one file on the desktop, renaming that file causes it to disappear until another file is created or its renamed again. To reproduce: 1. Make sure the desktop directory has only one file. 2. Rename the file. 3. Create a new file or rename that file again (via Dolphin, terminal, etc.) Result The file disappears after step 2, then reappears again after step 3. Expected result. The file remains visible. This bug was reported on the KDE tracker here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=517149 It was also reported fixed, as per: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=520633 The fix is only found in Plasma 6.7.0.
