Before we proceed here, can you provide some more information? For
instance, in which versions of Ubuntu is this behavior observed? Could
you come up with a short reproducer we could run in a container or VM so
we can jump in and help debugging/fixing the issue?
Finally, if this still affects stonking, up-streaming this patch would
be a good idea (which does not exclude fixing things in Ubuntu given we
have a reproducer and clear understanding of the issue.
