Public bug reported:
[ Impact ]
Linux has raised the default number of 64bit CPUs to 256 in commit
0fa749771993 ("riscv: Raise default NR_CPUS for 64BIT to 256"). OpenSBI
should use a matching value for SBI_HARTMASK_MAX_BITS. This avoids boot
failures if a user makes use of the large number of harts.
A patch has been submitted to upstream:
[PATCH 1/1] sbi: make SBI_HARTMASK_MAX_BITS customizable, default 256
https://lore.kernel.org/opensbi/[email protected]/T/#u
Let's wait for reviewer feedback.
As we will be backporting the 7.2 kernel to Resolute we should also
backport this change.
[ Test Plan ]
Check that our preinstalled RISC-V image boots with more than 128 harts.
[ Where problems could occur ]
Bugs in OpenSBI may lead to boot failure or to crashes at runtime.
