I tried that in a desktop VM, and I see the original yaml file setting
the interface to use dhcp4, and also a new 90-NM-* one with the static
interface definition. And "ip a" shows just the static interface. Did
you also override the default route, DNS, and other things, or just the
IP?

Could you please attach all the yaml files from /etc/netplan/*?
