I tested with xprop _NET_WM_STATE as requested. In "Windowed (Fullscreen)" mode the game window reports:
_NET_WM_STATE_MAXIMIZED_HORZ _NET_WM_STATE_MAXIMIZED_VERT but not _NET_WM_STATE_FULLSCREEN. This therefore explains why GNOME keeps the top panel visible. Interestingly, running exactly the same game through Gamescope hides the top panel correctly, suggesting that Gamescope treats this borderless maximized window differently. Thank you for pointing me to this diagnostic. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2160446 Title: GNOME top bar remains visible for XWayland borderless fullscreen games on Wayland (World of Warcraft / Lutris) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/2160446/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
