New image packed, removed existing WSL instances, cleaned up Windows Terminal profiles and confirmed no traces of Ubuntu themes any more, before registering a new WSL instance from the modified image. After completing set up and closing the Windows Terminal, **launching the new instance from the terminal drop down** effectively loaded the new theme, with the Ubuntu Sans Mono font and the updated colors. Checking the terminal appearance confirms the existence of the new Ubuntu Light theme as well and applying it works.
