Hello, Thank you for this very good and relevant question - I should have investigated more.
My first reaction was "Oh damn, he's right, we simply cannot do this SRU". Then, after digging more into it: * This is where I initially found the bug report and the 6.10 kernel explanation [0] * They mention this redhat bug where actual solutions are discussed [1] * The simple solution they chose is to revert one upstream commit [2]. But they also mention a NULL pointr dereference patch [3] that was required. This patch was backported to Ubuntu kernel 6.8 [4]. The thread also mention some more obscure issues with out of tree drivers, and it's difficult for me to be sure that this SRU will not break *any* weird configuration. So dropping this SRU looks safer to me. What do you think?
